It is our last morning here in NYC. Yesterday was an exhausting and wonderful day. We wanted to clear our checklist. We started our day with a great breakfast at the restaurant attached to our hotel in a table by the window.  We then went for some shopping in the little Gingerbread Village of shops by our hotel.
We walked over to Rockefeller center so we could go to the Top of the Rock. That was awesome. I love seeing all of NYC from up high. The view was breathtaking.
Afterwards we braved the subway again and even gave some other tourists directions on which train to take, etc. I really hope they made it to their destinations! Ha! We rode down to lower east side to have lunch at the world famous Katz's deli. We orders their specialties, pastrami and corned beef plus some knockwurst because it sounded interesting. It was all a first for me and all was delicious, but I think I was partial to the pastrami.
We rode the subway (after just one minor bit of confusion with was corrected with a lot of stair climbing ...oops) back uptown.
On our third try, we finally got to go inside the amazing NY public library. The first time it was closed for a private event and the second time we got there too late. It was lovely! However, it was a whole lot more stair climbing! :)
From there, we went to Grand Central Terminal. We people watched a bit, maybe found the "dark spot"on on the ceiling, and sampled some cheesecake from Juniors. We had our first and only nervous interaction there with a guy hiding a giant beer sitting next to us having a very heated argument with himself. So, that was the end of our cheesecake experience.
We made our way back to the hotel to get ready for the Christmas Spectacular. This was the show I was most excited about. It did not disappoint. The precision of their choreography is outstanding. They truly amaze me. The only bummer if the show is that it was too short. I could have watched them longer!
We made our way back to the hotel and began the daunting task of trying to pack all that we brought and all that we bought into our bags. I had packed a whole extra duffel bag for my purchases. It was full with the zipper bulging plus having to add to what I had in my bug suitcase.
This morning we decided to end our trip with breakfast at the same little shop where we gad our first meal. It was so enjoyable to sit st the coffee bar with our bagels and coffee watching the busy streets of NYC as people headed into work. But alas, it had to end so we stuffed all our bags into a little SUV taxi to head to the airport. The poor taxi driver could not see out the back window bc our bags filled the rear and pressed into the roof.
Luckily they had curbside check in at the airport and the guys barely checked our bags bc I was at 45 pounds on my way here without all the crap I added to it! We are now at the gate waiting for our plane.
I think all of us had an amazing time and loved every minute of it, but I think we are all also ready to get back to our real world with our wonderful babies and handsome husbands. We miss them so much and are so grateful to all of them for "bach-ing it" this long weekend so we could do this girls' trip! And a huge thank you to Robby for everything!!!
Robersons out!
